Privacy Policy

Overview

Lacuna ("we," "our," "the App") is a mobile-native, non-custodial privacy protocol. This policy explains what data the App does and does not collect. We designed Lacuna specifically to avoid collecting personal data, and this policy reflects that.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Government-issued identification or KYC documents
• Physical or mailing addresses
• Precise or approximate location data
• Contacts, photos, or device media
• Biometric data
• Any information that identifies you personally

Lacuna does not require account creation, sign-up, or login with any personal identity. Wallet addresses used within the App are not linked to your personal identity by us.

Data the App Handles

• On-chain data: Transactions and shielded pool activity are processed on the blockchain and, where applicable, within the App's zero-knowledge shielded pool. This data is public or cryptographically shielded on-chain infrastructure — it is not collected or stored on Lacuna's own servers as personal data.
• On-device data: Wallet keys and sensitive cryptographic material are generated and stored locally on your device. We do not have access to them and cannot recover them.

Technical & Network Data

We do not integrate crash-reporting or product-analytics SDKs that collect personal information for Lacuna.

When the App or website communicates with blockchain networks or hosting infrastructure, third-party providers (such as RPC nodes, CDNs, or hosting) may incidentally process technical data — for example IP addresses — under their own privacy practices. That incidental processing is outside Lacuna's control.

Third-Party Services

Lacuna may interact with third-party infrastructure necessary for blockchain functionality (for example RPC providers and blockchain networks). These third parties operate under their own privacy practices, which are outside Lacuna's control. We recommend reviewing their policies separately.

Children's Privacy

Lacuna is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect data from children, consistent with our no-data-collection design.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete upon request. If you believe this is inaccurate or have questions about how the App handles data, reach out through the contact details below.

This includes rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — we do not sell or share personal data, and none is collected in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
